We had a great time at the Titanic Escape; the usual moments of family tension when someone refused to listen or failed to get a clue right, but shout out to Tom our games master, who was really good and engaging helping when needed. We went as a family of 3, one of whom is an over excited 9 year old and it was definately challenging in our minds. If your a hardcore Escapee you may find the room a bit run down but mainly cosmetics. We will definately do another of Houdinis rooms.
I’ve attempted both rooms at this establishment- both major disappointments. In Creepy Carnival, the clues were complicated and not enjoyable. In titanic, there were missing pieces. The most disappointing part was the staff’s attitude. In titanic, we were introduced by a member of staff from ten pin who was reading off his phone. Then the staff were not watching so during a live scene we had to radio and say we’d done the clue. She also rushed us towards the end- giving us the answers. We also did not have the satisfactory ending as she just opened the door- making us feel as if we’d ran out of time. She then told us we’d missed huge parts of the room. Disappointing establishment. The service was poor from the start. I do not recommend
The titanic, and escape room I had high expectations for after multiple raving reviews, but these simply fell flat after playing, and beating the room, walking out feeling more than disappointed then any sense of accomplishment. We started the evening off with being let in late, something that we faced the first time we visited houdinis being told wed be allowed to start in 2 minutes which quickly turned to closer to 20, having security and members of tenpin asking wether wed be spoken to, whilst waiting in half a construction zone for our games master to be ready. Ofcourse i understand delays happen, and sometimes cant be prevented, but to be delayed significantly both times ive vistied is slightly worrying. The room itself, to begin with, was fine running relatively smoothly however had issues with the games master failing to activate sections from what I can assume would be via mag locks and feeling somewhat hostile when asking for clarification on clues. As someone who has done multiple escape rooms this is the last thing that I expected from a games master, I understand shifts can be long, but I do not feel this warrants almost aggressive nature towards customers. Some of the locks were left set almost on the correct code, finding spinning one of the dials by accident lead to the correct code, which obviously was not my intention at all. The ending of the room didn't feel clear either, as we initially assumed we'd ran out of time when the games master entered, only to be told we'd accomplished it with 10 minutes remaining. Another issue our team found was we were able to enter the other escape room at the location, purely by accident, lightly pushing on one of the doors without pressing on any exit or fire escape button, initially assuming it was a strange, corrupt part of titanic before quickly realising it wasn't and recognising it as the other room. Alongside this the games masters office was also left open whilst walking to the room, which allowed all of our team to see answers to padlocks without forcing a glance, although these codes weren't to our room, this could have significantly ruined someone's experience. The story was fine, the pacing was okay, but its not an escape room company or location I will be yearning to return to in the near future.
