The Grid - London's Sci-fi Cocktail Escape Experience

Great experience! Went with my boyfriend for his birthday, and was even given an extra drink! We needed loads of clues, and still managed to escape on time. There was only 2 of us in our "group", and we had loads of fun! (Especially when making fun of us missing the most simple things).

I think escape rooms are a lot about personal taste and unfortunately this one was just not for me. Me and my friends have done a lot of escape rooms and really enjoy the challenge but this escape room was not at all challenging. The tasks were too easy and we kept being given help when we neither wanted nor needed it. I don’t know if we had a bad experience and they were trying to rush us through but the game wasn’t enjoyable. In terms of the drinks we were given a drink on arrival which you have at the start of the game but that felt very rushed and we didn’t get to finish them. The cocktail at the end was more leisurely but it was a pre mixed bottle and it was so sweet I couldn’t drink it. The staff were really nice and very friendly and I think there is a lot of potential with this escape room but it needs to be harder, have less interruptions and the cocktails would benefit from not being a purchased bottle.

The overall theme of the escape room was OK, but I cannot really call this an escape experience. You are led through a series of puzzles. The puzzles are easy and if you even get stuck for one minute, you get help immediately. We escaped in not more than 25 minutes, considering you also had to sit down and watch some videos. I had a feeling some things weren't working in the first room as we had to do some general knowledge quiz. It was the first time I ever experienced something like that in an escape room and I hope the last time as well. None of us really understood what the story was about. The staff was friendly, but I would not recommend to go here.
